Homewrangle Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 26, 2026
Homewrangle is a family organizer made by Easeva Life LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information Homewrangle collects, why, who it's shared with, and how you can delete it.
The short version:
- We collect only what the app needs to work: your email address to sign in, and the household information you type in.
- We don't show ads, we don't sell your information, and we don't use analytics or tracking tools.
- You can delete your account and your household's data from inside the app at any time.
1. What we collect
Information you give us
- Your email address. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, so we need your address to send it. We don't ask for your name, phone number, or birthday.
- Your household. The household's name, and the people in it as you enter them: the name or nickname you choose, whether each person is an adult or a child, and the color shown next to them. Children don't need an email address or their own login.
- Your tasks, chores, and appointments. What you add to the app, such as titles, notes, locations, dates and times, how often something repeats, who it's assigned to, who completed it, and reminder settings. Some of this may be sensitive, for example "Pediatrician, Dr. Alvarez". Only you and the other members of your household can see it.
- Rewards. If you use rewards for children, the goals you set and whether they were earned.
- Setup answers. When you set up a household, you can answer a few questions (for example, whether you have pets or a yard) so the app can suggest chores. We keep the suggestions, not a separate record of your answers.
- Household size. When you create a household, you tell us how many adults are in it and how many use Android phones. We use these numbers only to understand how many families would need an Android version.
Information collected automatically
- Your device's notification token, if you allow notifications. This is a code from Apple that lets us send reminders to your phone. It doesn't identify you or your device to anyone else.
- Your time zone, so "today" and reminder times match where you are.
- Server logs. Like any online service, our servers keep technical logs to keep the app running and secure. They include things like the time of a request, which part of the app was used, and the network address (IP address) it came from. Our own logs record account ID numbers, not email addresses.
What we don't collect
Homewrangle doesn't collect your location, contacts, photos, or browsing activity. It doesn't include advertising or analytics tools, and it doesn't track you across other apps or websites.
Your calendar: Homewrangle never reads your calendar. When you tap "Add to Calendar" on an appointment, your iPhone opens its own Add Event screen. You decide whether to save it, and Homewrangle doesn't see your calendar or what you save.
2. How we use it
We use your information only to run Homewrangle:
- to sign you in and keep your account secure
- to show your household's tasks, chores, and appointments to the members of your household
- to send the reminders you've set up
- to suggest chores during setup, and to understand what you type into Quick Add (see below)
- to keep the service working, fix problems, and prevent abuse
We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.
3. Who we share it with
We share information only with the companies that run parts of the service for us, and only what each one needs:
| Company | What it does for us | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Auth0 (Okta) | Sign-in | Your email address, and sign-in details such as time and IP address |
| Render | Hosts our servers and database in the United States | Everything stored in the app, as described above |
| Expo and Apple | Deliver push notifications to your phone | Your notification token and the reminder text, such as "Reminder: Feed the pets" |
| Anthropic | Understands what you type into Quick Add | The sentence you typed, the first names of your household members, and today's date |
About Quick Add: when you type something like "Dentist for Sam next Tuesday at 3:15", Homewrangle sends that sentence, your household members' names, and today's date to Anthropic's AI service, which suggests the title, date, and person. Nothing is saved until you confirm it. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, this text isn't used to train their AI models.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety, or as part of a sale or merger of our company. If that happens, this policy continues to apply to your information.
4. Your household
Homewrangle is shared. Everything in a household (its members, tasks, chores, appointments, and who completed what) is visible to the other members of that household. People join a household only with its invite code, so share that code only with people you want to see your household.
5. Children
Homewrangle is meant to be used by parents and other adults to organize family life. It isn't directed to children under 13.
A parent or another adult creates children's profiles. A child profile contains only the name or nickname and color the adult chooses, plus the tasks assigned to that child. Children don't need an email address or their own login.
If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information without a parent's consent, contact us at the address below and we'll delete it.
6. How long we keep it, and deleting it
We keep your information for as long as you have an account.
Delete your account in the app: tap Household at the top of Today, scroll to the bottom, and tap Delete account. It's also on the screen that lists your households. When you delete your account:
- your login and email address are deleted, both from our database and from our sign-in provider
- your notification tokens are deleted
- any household where you're the only adult is deleted completely, including children's profiles and all tasks, chores, appointments, and history
- households you share with another adult stay with them. Your name is removed from them and replaced with "Former member", so their history still makes sense without identifying you
Deletion takes effect right away. Copies may remain in encrypted backups for up to 7 days, until those backups are replaced. Server logs are kept for up to 7 days.
You can also ask us to delete your information by emailing us (see below).
7. Security
Information travels between the app and our servers over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and it's stored with our hosting provider, which encrypts it at rest. Only the people who run Homewrangle can access the systems that hold it. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you if a breach affects you, as the law requires.
8. Your choices and rights
- See or correct your information: most of it is visible and editable in the app. For anything else, email us.
- Delete it: use Delete account in the app, or email us.
- Get a copy: email us and we'll send you a copy of your account's information.
- Notifications: you can turn reminders off any time in your iPhone's Settings.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU and UK GDPR. We honor these requests for everyone, wherever they live. We don't sell or share personal information for advertising, as those laws define it.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll also let you know in the app before it takes effect.
